Statik was again named one of the top salons in Canada, this time by Fashion Magazine. It's nice to be recognized for just trying to be the type of salon we would want to go to if we were clients.
The STATIK team was in Las Vegas July 2009 to attend The Gathering, a 2 day celebration of all things hair-related. Amazing classes and seminars.
Alina was in Dallas for a week of avante garde editorial training. Her instructor is one of the top stylists working editorial today, and Alina picked up some awesome technique.
Harry Josh was in town and came to the salon to show some of his latest techniques and discuss new trends with the Statik team. Harry is an old friend of ours, and one of the top celebrity stylists around.
Alina was in New York to work under legendary editorial stylist and educator Vivenne Mackinder. She really pushed the boundaries of her avante garde work.
John was in New York to do a class under Nick Arrojo. He learned some great new techniques and sampled the food at one of Gordon Ramsey's restaurants, he said it was amazing!
Statik's new colour lounge was featured on Global News. We did some great makeovers and discussed our new concepts in colour.
Ted Gibson was in town to launch his new product line and stopped in at Statik to see the salons and meet our team, staying for a couple of hours. He spoke to us about his experiences as a celebrity stylist and editorial artist and he was so inspiring. Just a great guy, and if you anyone is looking to spend $950 on a haircut, we highly recommend him.
Statik was proud to be asked to host one of the world's true legends of hair, TIm Hartley. Tim was International Creative Director for Vidal Sassoon for many years and was in Vancouver doing a show. All models were prepped at Statik and our team were key in helping with all the cuts and colours.
Back from New York the Statik team learned new techniques from some of the best in the business. Celebrity stylist Ted Gibson was the highlight this year. Ted is an amazing artist and wonderful person, sharing his editorial tricks with us. Nick Arrojo was also there, and did some great work as usual. The coolest thing we saw was Christophe Martin's new underground show, "Arelquin." It took place in a very old synangogue and it was simply incredible. The man is a true genius.
Michael was interviewed, photographed and featured in The Province newspaper in Kerry Moore's column recently. Michael was asked about new looks and did a new men's modern cut.
Caramel co-owner Liz Abreu was mentioned recently in GLOW Magazine. She did a fabulous makeover on Lianne Kerr. Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy Lianne.
Caramel Salon was asked to be the first salon to do a makeover for The Life Network's hit new show, "Crash Test Mommy." Michael did a beautiful new cut, colour and highlighting for an over worked Mommy. This episode aired October 6th at 5pm and 8pm on the LifeNetwork.
If you missed it, your favorite Caramel stylists were on Global Television Sunday, July 24, Sunday July 31 and Sunday August 7th at 9:40am and again at noon. We were asked to do six makeovers for Global's Noon News show and Eric, Lindsay, Melissa, Marc and Cherry did some beautiful work. It's great that we were asked and we thank Global's Robin Stickley for the opportunity to show our stuff.
It s wih great sadness that we've closed our Broadway salon, but it is with great happiness that we've moved all the Broadway staff into a new, bigger, and even nicer salon space in a great area. CARAMEL has now opened directly across the street from STATIK on Granville. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause for our valued clients, but the new salon does have free parking in the back and is only 7 minutes from where the Broadway location was. Call us at 604.731.5112 to book your appointments, and we look forward to serving you at CARAMEL, one of Vancouver's most beautiful salon environments.

Working with the best chemists in the business has allowed us to create a truly great and ethical product line adressing the true needs of clients today, by us for you. Come in and check it out.
Back from New York where we attended the world's largest show, IBS and it was great. Our personal favorite was Ruth Roche, as she was hilarious and so real while showing her brilliance. Her work is so great, truly one of the best stylists ever. Paul Mitchell's Robert Cromeans was is usual inspiring self, getting the crowd whipped into the usual frenzy when he takes the stage. We went to Arrojo Studio, had a visit with "What Not To Wear"'s Nick Arrojo. Cool new salon, and man are they busy. Nick put us on the guest list for his small new show, "Dunkleheit." It was very cool, very New York, awesome hair and we sat in front of legend Yosh Toya in this tiny underground theatre full of NYC's hair and fashion VIPs. All in all a great show. We'll be there next year.
Statik Salon was proud to be featured on Global Television's "Noon News Hour" for our bridal styling. Christopher was interviewed and filmed while doing one of his fantastic up-styles. Schedule your wedding styling soon, as he's almost fully booked for this year's edding season.
Statik stylists flew to Paris in October for the annualMondial Coiffure show. The main stage was awesome, with some of the best work we've seen. Fully choreographed, georgeous models, couture clothing, brilliant stylists.
On April 27th, our team attended very small, personal, two day class with one of the world's best, Nick Arrojo. Among his many accomplishments, Nick is the stylist on the show, "What Not To Wear." Nick taught us some great cutting and razoring techniques and I feel confident that my team will be able to give our clients fresher, more modern looks that they cannot get anywhere else, outside of Nick's salon in midtown Manhatten.
